Dark spots on the screen
foretold the end for someone.
We'd hoped to have more time.


Instead, the woman who'd tried
so hard to stay alive was suddenly
gone and her man was all alone.

Each time I look the wound in
my heart has grown a bit deeper.
I know that it will never heal.
