Day I
An American Cinquain (Original Form)

Histrionic Personality Disorder

Stop!
Stop acting out.
You're a silly drama clown.
You'd better change before I get mad.
Stop!

Day II
An American Cinquain (Original Form)

Developmental Disability

Will I
ever be real?
Can my dream never come true?
Will I always feel like someone other
than me?

Day III
Two American Cinquains (Original Form)

Hubris

We
were sure we could
create the world anew.
We learned too late you cannot defeat
Fate.

Vivid Imagization
A vivid
image is like
a slap in the face, makes
a bold, strong, visible impression
on them.

A Rhinestone
Not a 💍 Diamante

One Poet's Apologia

Even those who hear the music
may wonder what purpose
people like me serve.

But I believe there’s a reason
some higher power, or perhaps a
a malevolent spirit, put poets here.

Chose us to compose verses sounding
golden chords; to create perfect poems,
each one sublime beyond compare.

Then to reject, to destroy, to despair.
And do it all over again until forever.

The poet’s purpose is to persevere.

The reason Why was written
on the wind somewhere.

Day IV
_______Two Clerihews

Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell
is a cool fighter pilot as hot as a pistol,
the ace who's always the toppest gun
even when flying an old P-51.

Thomas Cruise Mapother the Fourth
frequently finds himself way off course.
He once gave James Corden a ride on a jet
and the two have never been seen again yet.

_______Two Limericks

___________ðŸĶĪ
There was a young man from Chicago
who knew there was much he did not know.
So he went off to school
to stop being a fool
but came back still dumb as a dodo.

___________🚗
There was an old lady from Fraser
who drove a big MAGA red Blazer.
Since she wasn't too bright
she would only turn right,
neither law nor good sense could faze her.

Day V
A Lanterne

Lights
shine on
in the dark
until they burn
out.

A Slanterne

Life
goes on
until it
suddenly does
not.

Day VI
A Lesson Learned

It's easier to ad lib a limerick
than to structure a sonnet.
