Lauds and Vespers
Will de Kypia
At dawn I lounge in my bed
watching the world grow bright.
Each morning I awaken joyously alive,
musing about all the marvels I will achieve
before this new day fades into night.
At dusk I cower in dread
staring at the blood-red sun.
The sole marvel I've accomplished is
moving another day closer to that dawn
when someone will discover me dead.
