Return To The Triple R

When I get back to
the Triple R Ranch I’ll ask
Annette if she wants to dance.

To dance and take a moonlight
hayride like we did on the night
we met, all those years ago.

We'll sway beneath silver until our
ride begins, then we will squeeze close
in the wagon until skin touches skin.

Two old friends can reminisce,
chatting a bit about that or this,
thrilled to be together again.
-
One of us might reveal a
shocking secret, the other an
impossible dream confide.
-
Remembering our wayward
younger days, we'll agree it's
a wonder we both survived.
-
Before the hayride ends two lovers
will share their second first kiss
and this one will last forever.
