When I get back to the
Triple R Ranch I’ll ask Annette
if she wants to dance.

To dance and take a moonlight
hayride like we did the first time
we met, all those years ago.

We'll sway beneath silver until
our ride begins, then squeeze close in
the wagon until skin touches skin.

Two old friends can reminisce,
chatting a bit about that and this,
excited to be together again.

One might reveal some
long-held secret, the other an
impossible dream confide.

And just after midnight
two young lovers will share
their first real kiss.
